I found this thread to be closed so thought I'd chime in separately (my bad if I did this wrong). rmorrow, great resource on git but I had trouble downloading the driver that I believe I needed for...
Finding an ac wifi adapter that works can be tough but if you need one check out BrosTrend (Amazon). Compatible with Linux Kernels up to 6.5, Ubuntu 23.10~16.04. One reviewer claims only Debian...
And this defect has been promoted to 22.04 for HP Pavilion laptops.
Has anyone found a mouse that works well with 20.04? I have an HP laptop and the cursor freezes constantly with the mouse pad enabled (yep, tried all the home remedies). Thanks!!
Point taken, it all works, thank you. I'm not sure why features are missing but it is not the end of the world! I'm sure developers will add in the simple "turn mouse pad on/off. Again, not a big...
I did follow the steps from 1fallen but then looked to see if anything changed. Command line reply was that it was not working but low and behold, the machine has not slipped into airplane mode. ...
And for the record, I am a die hard Ubuntu user and will continue to use it and thank you to the opensource community. Cheers, :-)
Moving from 16.04 to 22.04.2 = why? I can't believe how many features are missing in the desktop = what happens when I close lid, how do I shut off the mouse pad? Airplane mode? C'mon, that's for...
thank you! Funny thing is supposedly the default is suspend! Does not work on my HP which is just fine.
I don't show this option under power options. What's funny is closing the lid does nothing which is what I want! But no pull down menu for suspend, hibernate, etc.
I upgraded my wife's machine to 22.04.2 LTS from 16.04 LTS. Different commands, directories, features missing, incorrect documentation. Big mistake, my machine still runs good ol' 16 which is WAY...
Is there a feature to decide what happens when you close the lid to your laptop in 22.04.2?
Actually, there are no setting for airplane mode other than to turn it on under wi-fi settings.
Would it be possible to have parameters = do not ever go into airplane mode or engage airplane mode after = certain amount of time. My HP Pavilion laptop randomly goes into airplane mode. Someone...
Maybe so = HP, but there should still be a parameter setting in Gnome IMHO. Cheers
I get:
hp-keycodes.service - HP setkeycodes fix
Loaded: loaded (/etc/systemd/system/hp-keycodes.service; enabled; vendor p>
Active: inactive (dead)
Action for closing lid should = "do nothing" if that is your choice. But my HP will go into airplane mode when the lid is open! Hey, Canonical is way better than MS at this so I hope they fix!. :-)
Guess that tells me that it's not working! Who in the heck thought of this feature without tuning the parameters in Gnome? :-)
I get:
hp-keycodes.service - HP setkeycodes fix
Loaded: loaded (/etc/systemd/system/hp-keycodes.service; enabled; vendor p>
Active: inactive (dead)
Someone at Canonical needs to put in a knob in Gnome to either have this turned off and a timer setting.
Thank you. I think I made the mistake of doing a reboot I would not need to enable the daemon. Do you know if the service will go away with a reboot
Think I have it working...!!
Tried this, did not work - or maybe I flubbed the edit.
